Harvesting nature’s gifts at Vounder Therapy Gardens

Our first two groups at the Wildfowl and Wetlands Trust (WWT) have now finished, and the organisers are busy preparing for the next round of sessions starting in just a few weeks’ time.

Meanwhile, participants at the Eden Project have been getting their hands dirty by clearing and preparing growing beds in the Vounder Therapy Gardens, which is situated in a tranquil spot away from the hustle and bustle of the main site.

They have had the chance to harvest and take home a selection of vegetables already growing in the garden, including tomatoes, parsnips, spinach and kale. Group members shared some creative recipes and cooking tips for making the most of their fresh, homegrown produce.

Our third partner organisation, the Sensory Trust, is also getting ready to welcome new participants to its morning sessions in Tregoniggie Woodland, Falmouth, beginning towards the end of October.

This programme will invite group members to slow down and connect with the woodland in all its autumn glory, through listening to its sounds, joining guided mindfulness practices, and learning more about the lives of its wild inhabitants.

There are currently 20 spaces available for the next Sensory Trust programme, with sessions taking place on Wednesday afternoons, from 2-5pm. Tea and coffee will be provided to help keep participants warm as Autumn sets in, and transport support is available to those who need help attending.
